Mocha-Java

Mocha-Java

150 years ago, half of the world’s coffee supply was grown in Brazil, but the most famous coffees came from the island of Java and the Arabian Peninsula, where coffee had been shipped from the port of Mocha for hundreds of years. Even more famous than either of these coffee alone was the popular “Mocha-Java” blend, which was synonymous with coffee for decades. Many coffee roaster’s still offer a Mocha-Java blend today, mixing coffee from Java, Sumatra, or Sulawesi with coffee from Yemen or Ethiopian to obtain the legendary flavor profile.
